Well, my baby turns 2 tomorrow. Sob. Granted, most people think he is going to be 3 because he is so enormous, but he is still my baby.
Don't get me wrong- as any of you who know us (or have ever walked by Core on the street) know that we are done having children.* That doesn't mean I can't be sad when my babies grow up. I love my boys and can't believe they are getting so big, they are growing up before my eyes. Two years ago, I was sitting on the couch pointing at my stomach saying, "GET OUT! YOUR DONE, GET OUT!" and now I'm here crying because he is growing up.
When we had Asher 2 years ago, they had to induce me because apparently my body does not go into labor. After a relatively easy labor of only 5 hours and a couple of pushes, we welcomed Asher Brian into the world. He has been awesome ever since. He was such a smiley, happy baby, as you can see from the pictures. Now he is a little machine, who talks nonstop and loves trains.
More fav memories:
- How as a baby his head was so big. He had the fluffiest hair, like a baby kitty. People would come up to him and rub their cheeks on his hair.
- Asher slept his first month of life. My dad swears he never saw his eyes until he was 4 weeks old. I told him to come over at 2 a.m.
- He lights up every morning when he sees his brother. At 16 months, he would wake up and say, "Where's brother?" at 20 months, he said, "Good Morning brother, how are you?"
- Asher has always been a big boy, which people feel free to comment on. One guy asked me if I fed him cement. I had to refrain from asking him if it is next to the ugly pool he drinks out of.
- When we put him in his carseat, he sings the whole way to town and back. This little guy singing away in a sweet little voice.
- And now, how he says "cookie?" about a million times a day. He has this thing where he adds -ah to the end of a lot of his words, so they sound like
cookie-ah?
mommy-ah?
I love the little guy, and pray he stays as awesome as he is today. Happy Birthday Asher B!!
