We Heart Art! With Mr. Linky and Everything!

It's finally here! The chance, today and tomorrow, for you to show off you and your child(ren)s  artwork. I have already seen one and can't wait to see more.
Our family artist is Elijah. Currently his medium is colored pencils and clay (not counting the lovely creations smooshed in our carpet.) I love to watch him work with these and see the awesome ideas he comes up with. As I am in no way an artist, it never ceases to amaze me the creativity he has.
That being said, here are a couple of items he has made out of clay. Right now? He is going to be decorating a cake...I'll post pics tomorrow.

{The dead looking thing in the middle is an angel}

Feel uncreative, like me? Check out
Toddler Crafts  Photobucket
who have tons of creative ideas on how to well, do creative stuff
• You may link up on all 3 blogs, mine, 3baybchicks and I'm Living Proof God Has a Sense of Humor~ more blogs, more traffic?!
• Show off your artwork! Yes, you may post more than once, certainly if you are doing for more than one child, or you child and yourself. We want to see what you've got!
• For extra entries? Follow 3baybchicks, Domestically Challenged and I'm Living Proof God Has a Sense of Humor. We'd love to have you! {just don't be expecting prizes all the time..J}
•Check out some other blogs and see what others are up to! Maybe you'll come up with some cool ideas

Remember, our definition of art is very broad and there is no limit to your number of entries.

Kids might feature... a drawing, painting, or sidewalk chalk creation, a video of themselves explaining a piece of artwork, singing, or playing a musical instrument, something they created in the kitchen, or an example of their writing, e.g., short story, poem, etc.

Adults could highlight... a drawing, painting, or a video, something you created on the computer or in the kitchen, an example of your writing, e.g., short story, poem, etc., a sample of your scrapbooking, or art that you created as a child.

We hope you will join us!

Thanks for participating!

Wow, I thought that I already followed you, but I guess not. Good thing you held this contest so that I would catch that silly mistake!

Love the claymation. Especially the "dead" angel. He's really good!

The detail in that photo is all from the lens, not the camera. The nature of a macro lens is that you have to be nearly touching your subject to get it in focus, but it magnifies everything and gets all the little details.

Of course I forgot to answer your Q (I'm a ditz it appears). I currently shoot with a Nikon D80- though if I had my druthers, I would have gotten a D90.

Glad you explained the 'angel.' Can you tell me what the giant blue/green blob thing is up in the right hand corner? The rest are pretty easy to tell!

Hi, Following your blog! Nice to meet you!

Sara, and anyone else curious on how to make the "stained glass windows"

Directions:
The frames I got at the dollar store! I got the "Gallery Glass window colors" at the craft store, they have the black leading to, and the transparent colors...

Browse the net for coloring pages, the simpler the better..... print those off "to fill the page size"
I put them like you'd put the picture and "Traced" the "lines" last night.... so they'd be dry today!
Squeeze the colors in the areas the kids want, and let them use skewers to "paint" the colors....

Let them dry, take off the back and the Paper picture and you'll have your "stained glass window" :)

The girls handprints i did the same, i just outlined their hands and put their hand prints behind the glass and drew the stems freehand!

2blessed2stress said...

I wanted to add, i just added the "done" pics..... with them dried! I couldnt get them to rotate off the external hd though GRRR!

Simply Complex said...

Holy crow, those are a lot of entries. Oh, and don't think I am not waiting for pics of the cake, cause I am.
