Let me go ahead and preface this by saying that, like normal, I am going to cross the boundaries of TMI as well as good taste. Therefore, if you know me in real life? Do yourself a favor and do not read past this line.

Dear Under Armour,
I had high hopes when I purchased these:
this summer. I thought they were going to save me from the dreaded "running shorts" look and provide me comfort and moisture wicking happiness. I was giddy with excitement to try them out.
Um, fail.
I wore them out for a 10 mile training run on a hot and humid day. It was to be perfect. You see? Your description says this:
For The Benefit of Mankind:
The World's Most Comfortable Underwear (editor's note: HA!)
The World's Most Comfortable Underwear (editor's note: HA!)

I was super excited to try them out. It wasn't all I'd hoped, but maybe it was the weather, right? no.
I wore them on my Ragnar Relay Run...same problem.
Naturally, since I am a quick learner and always learn from my mistakes, I decided to wear them for the TC Marathon.
Let's just say this Under Armour...why, why, why?
Why do you have a seam on the BUM? Where the underpants move* and rub?
Painfully yours,

*fine, at least on me they do. Buns of Steel, these are NOT.

Got news for you...my son wears their tshirts for football. He has to wear them inside out because the stitching on their seams irritates him badly.
Oh, no. Not good. Get well soon!
Does that make 'em seat-picker drawers? Maybe you should run in a Speedo. Some guy we saw last week was doing that. His Speedo was yellow. Bright yellow.
Yeah, that sounds like it gives you camel toe and chafage.
yup, that's how many times it took me to figure out the UA unders suck! ouch! feel better soon :)
You know-I've never strayed from normal, cotton underwear. The idea that there's specialized runner underwear out there makes me suspicious. Sorry about the painful lesson.
Thanks for the review! I'm going to steer clear!
P.S.
Glad I linked to your blog from Tanya's - love it! I was just starting to call myself a runner when I was hit by a car during a morning run last month. I'm going to walk/run again (at least that's what the doctors tell me...I still think they might be lying to keep me from getting depressed!) but in the meantime I will live vicariously through my blog runner friends...which I now count you as one!
My butt is having sympathy pains for you right now.
OUCH OUCH OUCH!
That is so irritating. Feel better.
you so just saved me from this mistake.. again you are my hero. Testing the item out completely just for your safety...
but i bet you did look good in them though....
to bad it didnt work.
Designed, no doubt, by a man. No one seems to get women's undies right. I think I'm going to start making my own (hah!).
How breathable IS polyester? I thought that was the least breathable material on the planet?
My brother in law insists that my boppy pillow is for "ass problems" so try sitting on one of those!

Ouch! You know Ray swore by Under Armor during his 6 months is Iraq but I have serious road rash under my arm from an Under Armor shirt.
Yucky..and pain full. If it would have been me wearing them with all that friction I could have started a small forest fire!
Hope your cheeks feel better soon!
Thanks for the PSA. Seriously. I have only had issues with a brand new pair of shorts I wore for the San Diego Marathon. I have a nice scar on my low back from the seam.
Sometimes I do think it is the fancy stuff that gets you. Like my way expensive cold weather running tights that scrape my ankles with the zipper unless I get them on Just Right. Ugh. It's frustrating when something like that doesn't perform.
LOL! Oh, no!!! Poor you. You're hilarious, mama.
Just say no to chafing!!
Um ouch girlfriend! One more reason for me not to run!
Well, I'm going to take another stance on Under Armour. As a HUGE Alabama fan, we would NEVER wear Under Armour - they make Auburn football uniforms. Any company who would make those awful, tacky uniforms COULDN'T make anything good!! :) ROll TIDE!
Yikes, it sounds painful!! Maybe you should consider sending their company a copy of this blog post? Seriously....someone at their company HAS to know that the undies are not as comfortable as they claim to be. And as we all know when a product gets one bad review, it can pretty much damage that product's reputation!
pian, pain, pain...probably best to keep thes little shorts for your not so long runs!
Duley nooted though...not going to purchase those now. :)
Yikes. Are you going to contact UA and give them a link to your blog? I think you outta.
Bless your heart. I have always heard of these products but never tried them. Now I know not to waste my money. Thanks for the heads up.
Have a fabulous day!
I've never had chaffing issues but don't run long distances yet. We were talking about apparel after one of our training runs and one of the coachs says she runs commando. I think the pants or shorts would bother me. I have several pairs of Body by Victoria thongs that are seamless and non-cotton and they work great so far.
thanks for the psa....i shall steer clear. i REALLY don't need anything else about running to cause me pain, thereby allowing me to talk myself out of going.
I cannot even imagine the discomfort! It's hard to find comfy running clothes!
Ouch! You did not share this information during the relay! Pick up some Aquafor, stat!
I had no idea it was so uncomfortable. The hubs wears that shiz like it's goin' outta style when he runs.
Just came across your adorable blog and had to say hi. IM a new follower :)
No fun at all. Does Baby Powder help at all?
I am a huge chafer too.I have had so many problems with just about every under garments. Finally, I decided to go under garmentless when running. Totally has worked. Talk about TMI!
Oh my... chaffing is such a problem, have your tried that now cream? I really can't think of the name of it but it really halps to not only prevent chaffing but helps it heal.
Owwwww! They just look uncomfortable!
YIKES!!! Thus, the soreness.
Ouch! They are way too short for me and would irritate me anyway. I normally wear long shorts but remember not wearing the right knickers on one of my first long runs......not fun!!!
Hope you had an amazing day!
Try them inside out! That sucks. There isnothing worse thanbeing uncomfortable while you run!
